MONITORING THE SALES OF FOOD AND BEVERAGES IN THE SCHOOL CANTEEN INTRODUCTION

INTRODUCTION

The Healthy School Canteen Management Guide which was published by the Ministry of Education Malaysia in collaboration with the Ministry of Health Malaysia in 2011 was revised in 2016. This review makes only two categories of food and beverage sales in the school canteen, namely food and beverages that can be sold and prohibited. .

Accordingly, starting in 2017, food and beverage sales monitoring activities in the school canteen were conducted based on the new food and beverage list. Monitoring is carried out periodically and ongoing guidance is given to canteen operators by the Science Officer (Nutrition). This activity conducted to ensure that students get early exposure towards the selection of nutritious food and beverages and in turn provide an environment that supports healthy eating practices among school people.

OBJECTIVE
