1Malaysia Milk Programme (formerly known as the School Milk Programme, PSS) has been initiated since 1983. It is part of the Food Supplemental Programme (RMT) which aims to encourage milk drinking among primary school pupils. On July 9, 2010 this programme began with renaming it to 1Malaysia Milk Programme (PS1M).
Improve health and nutritional status of primary school pupils by fostering the habit of always/constantly drink milk.
Giving free milk to eligible students. Each student will receive two boxes of chocolate flavoured milk (200ml), twice a week.
BENEFITS OF PROGRAMME
Encourage milk consumption among school children and ensure that students from low-income families are given milk. In addition, the provision of milk to school children is also an attempt to raise a new generation who are stronger, slimmer and smarter. Through the milk supply to schools, the economic status of local entrepreneurs and farmers will be increased.
